Family:
Mother (deceased), Amanda Vasquez, 65; Father, Benjamin Vasquez, 68; Sister, Serena Vasquez, 23; Sister, Maria Vasquez, 21; Brother, Ryan Vasquez, 19.Likes:
Valerie was closer to her brother Ryan and her younger sister Serena than anyone else in her family. Her entire family got along very well however, and usually spent hours of time together (even if it wasn't planned). Her mother, when she was alive, never seemed to be too busy for her children and Valerie loved that because that meant her mother could spend a lot of time with her.
Valerie is the eldest out of all her siblings and can even remember having to change Ryan's diapers. It's one of the reasons they're so close; since she was the oldest, she was often the one left in charge to care for her youngest sibling. Valerie was close to Serena because Serena was second born and they too spent a lot of time together and played with each other.
However, Valerie's other sister, Maria, often played with either Serena or their parents. Maria was definitely the shiest of all the Vasquez children, and she was sometimes afraid of Valerie simply because Valerie was the oldest and "the boss".
Valerie likes children, a lot. She hopes that one day she will have children of her own, but right now she is happy just to work with them.Dislikes:

- Chinese takeout

- know-it alls
- high society snobs

Valerie is a very calm person, to start things off. She's always been the comforter at home, the care-taker. Valerie grew up being the one to take care of everybody else, whether it was soothing her dad after a long day's work, or helping her mom in the kitchen so she wouldn't have to do all the work alone. Thus, Valerie often puts other's well-being before hers.Appearance:
It's hard for her to be very mean, but she can be strict when it's time to lay down the rules. Valerie truly believes that to have a truly ordered society, one must follow most (if not all) of the society's rules. She has demonstrated this in her work at Crescent Hill Academy.
Ms. Vasquez is really just a pleasant, easy-going, motherly soul. People find it easy to talk to her because of how nice she is, but Valerie is certainly not naive. She's learned her life lessons (most of them the hard way), and she does have a backbone. She's no pushover and she will know when people are trying to take advantage of her kindness and their privileges.
Valerie has a squarish face with a long nose. Her skin is a dark tan color and her eyes are dark brown. Valerie stands at 5'7", but she doesn't know how much she weighs. She'd guesstimate it to around 150 or 160 pounds, but she has a rather thin frame.History:
Valerie has dyed burgundy red hair (with her black roots and black tips). She usually wears eyeshadow and lipstick, but her cheeks are naturally a rosy pink. Ms. Vasquez has no tattoos and the only piercings she has are the ones on her ears.
Born into a upper middle-class family in Manhattan, Valerie grew used to the busy city life at a young age. She used to do small errands for people in her apartment complex and her mother and her mother's friends, earning her a little money here and there and teaching her how to do a decent day's work. Just because they were a little better off financially didn't mean Valerie's family got to slack off.Experience:
Later in her life, after she'd graduated college and gone to a good grad school, a brilliant idea struck Valerie in a dream. She'd always wanted to be a professor, and more specifically, she wanted to work with writers and cultivate their poetry skills. But this new idea told her she should be a Headmistress of an entire school and not just a poetry professor.
Lucky for her, Valerie's sister Serena had heard of a school not far from where they lived called Crescent Hill Academy. The school was looking for a new Headmaster or Headmistress to take over after the former Headmaster, Larry Petersburg, retired.
Months later, Valerie was welcomed to Crescent Hill as the newest Headmistress.
Valerie has done a lot of community service involving teens and young children; most of it was with after-school or homework help programs, but sometimes she volunteered as a teen guidance counselor.Hopes/Goals:
Valerie also has a Bachelor's in Literature. She has studied the art of literature for many years. She has the passion and the loving of language and literature that she believes people should need for such a job.
Valerie hopes to make a difference, no matter how small.
