Student Resources
What they are and how to use them.
Student resources (well, these student resources) aren't really used for any academic value. No, these student resources are completely for leisure and to grow closer to (or farther apart from) your fellow peers. Here are the basic rules and what to do with each "resource".
E-Mail
Every student and staff member is assigned an email once they are registered in Crescent Hill. Their email address is comprised of the first letter of their first name and their last name, then @crescenthill.org. For example, my email address would be vvasquez@crescenthill.org.
Once you are registered (and can figure out what your email address is), it is recommended that you create a thread in the Email board with just your name. The first post should include your email address at the top, then your full name and other stats that you'd like to include to make it more original. Nothing more should be entered. This should be the only post you make in your email thread.
When sending emails to other people, you will have to type the email (like a traditional email, with a subject and the people you are sending/forwarding it to) in their email thread. If they reply to your email, the person will then write their reply in your email thread and so on and so forth. Overall, besides that first post, no one is to write in their own email thread.
Cell Phones
Cell phones can be used for either calling or texting. Like emails, every student/staff member will have to create their own thread (possibly stating a fake cell number, but that is not necessary). Like the emailing system, nobody will reply to their own thread.
If you are calling someone, rather than having an actual conversation, you will automatically be forwarded to their voicemail. You will then have to leave a message saying why you called, or what you would've said, etc...When that person replies, they will have to leave a voicemail in your thread.
If you are texting someone, it is basically the same format as email. NOTE: Netspeak is allowed in texts, but not excessively. Please use netspeak moderately as it is a bother to read and try to figure out for people not fluent in it.
Relationships
This is basically a thread to keep track of your relationships with other characters on the site. It should be updated pretty regularly, depending on who you're interacting with and how. You can make an individual template or use the one that is supplied to list people you've met and your relationship with them. Not all relationships have to be mutual.
Other people may post in your thread, requesting a certain position. They might've put you in that position in their own thread. Once again, not all relationships have to be mutual, so if you don't feel the requested way about that character, you can refuse to add them to that position.
Journaling Blogs
Like livejournal (or any other blogging site), or like a diary. Only you may post in this thread because it is personal. Other members may view your journal/diary/blog, but it shouldn't have any effect on how you and that character interact in RP because the characters themselves shouldn't know what's in the journals/diaries/blogs.
You should only make a new post for every new day you write in your journal. If you are adding onto a previous entry, just edit that entry and include the time before you add the new information.
For every entry, you should enter the date and time at the beginning of the post.

That's all about student resources. If you have any questions about these, please post in the Help Desk board. Thank you!
